Perot’s Island was originally known as “Crumb-Brush Island”, so named for its resemblance to a small curved table brush that was used to sweep crumbs from a table.
It was later renamed “Perot’s Island” (late 1730’s), after William Perot, Bermuda’s first Postmaster General, and designer of a hand-made stamp prized by stamp collectors the world over.
